Wow. I felt as though my life story was being told by Serena. So many similarities. I particularly liked the focus on forgiveness as I have struggled with this and continue to do so. A moving read but for those who have suffered it’s reliving the trauma suffered. However Serena has provided some tactics that can be used.
The author’s story is so raw and honest—it really paints a picture of what it’s like to grow up with a narcissistic parent. The way she describes the gaslighting, the silent treatment, and constantly feeling like she weren’t enough was heartbreaking but also so relatable.
What I really appreciated was that it wasn’t just about the pain. The author also takes you through her journey of healing, and that gave me hope. It’s not an easy read, especially if you’ve been through something similar, but it’s definitely worth it.
If you’ve ever struggled with a toxic parent or questioned your own reality because of emotional abuse, this book will make you feel seen. It’s honest, painful, but also empowering. Highly recommend!
Your story was inspiring ✨️
Familiar experience with my own mother, even my family, but have the strength to forgive and reclaim your power.
Well done.
